From the small village of Psathopyrgos in Achaia to the distant shores of Australia, Panagiota Misiri's life is a story of courage, sacrifice and determination.
Having experienced the horrors of war, poverty and loss in Greece, she left her homeland in search of a better future. Arriving in an unfamiliar country, she worked tirelessly in workshops and factories, drawing on the skills she had learned as a seamstress to build a new life and provide for her children.
Her story is a moving tribute to the resilience of Greek migrant women who helped shape Australia's multicultural society.
