What Happens When You Take a 24-Year-Old VW on a 6-Day Off-Grid Trip?

6 days off grid, 5 nights camping and 570 miles in my 24-year-old VW T4 campervan! 🚐🥩 But how did the old Meat Wagon cope with our Northumberland and Scotland road trip? Good afternoon, campers! Welcome back to another portion of The Daily Meat! We're back at the homestead in South Lincolnshire after an incredible road trip with Bruno, and today we're giving the Meat Wagon a proper post-adventure review. After needing recovery trucks on previous adventures, I'm pleased to say our 2002 VW Transporter T4 2.5 TDI made it home under its own steam — and even passed 190,000 miles along the way! In today's episode, we're looking at: 🚐 How the 24-year-old VW T4 performed over 570 miles ⛽ Our £120 diesel bill and estimated 43 MPG 🔋 How the Aferiy and VTOMAN power stations coped without campsite electric hook-up ❄️ Keeping the fridge running throughout the adventure 🔥 Staying warm with the diesel heater 🛏️ How comfortable the campervan was over five nights 🎤 What went wrong with my DJI wireless microphone! We also head back out in the Meat Wagon for a few supplies, investigate a little mystery left over from the road trip, and catch up with Bruno and life back at the homestead. The VTOMAN was topped up from the van's 12V socket while driving, but we didn't use campsite electric hook-up during the trip. Not bad for a 24-year-old campervan! Thanks for coming along on another adventure. Whether you're here for van life, camping, VW T4 adventures or just a relaxing daily vlog, you're always welcome.
