Highway 99 Tunnel Program Update | Steveston Interchange Open + Fraser River Tunnel Works

Drone construction update on the Highway 99 Tunnel Program in Richmond and Delta, BC. In this video, I take a look at two major parts of the program: the recently opened Steveston Interchange Project and the current early works for the future Fraser River Tunnel, which will replace the existing George Massey Tunnel with a new toll-free, eight-lane tunnel. The Steveston Interchange structure opened to traffic in December 2025, with landscaping, final paving, and site finishing work continuing toward full completion. On the Fraser River Tunnel side, early work is now underway to prepare for the new tunnel, including geotechnical investigations, utility relocations, access roads, site development, and other preparatory construction work along the Highway 99 corridor. This update shows the current progress from above, including the Steveston Interchange, Deas Island work area, Highway 99 corridor changes, and the early construction footprint for the future tunnel replacement project.
