Police searching for a missing couple open a locked shipping container on a rural property in South Carolina. Inside, they find Kala Brown alive after more than two months in captivity.
Her rescue leads investigators to Todd Kohlhepp, three victims buried on his land, and a motorcycle-shop shooting that had remained unsolved for thirteen years.
Beginning with the actual rescue recording, this episode follows the evidence that brought officers to the property, the disturbing history behind Kohlhepp’s seemingly ordinary life, and the investigation that ended in seven murder convictions.
The victims were Charles “Charlie” Carver, Johnny Joe Coxie, Meagan Leigh McCraw Coxie, Scott Ponder, Beverly Guy, Brian Lucas and Chris Sherbert. Kala Brown survived.
