Brahmanda Vijaya Shri Shiva Kavacham (ब्रह्माण्डविजय श्रीशिवकवचम्) is a sacred Sanskrit Shiva Kavach built around powerful invocations of Mahadev, including Om Namah Shivaya and mantras invoking Maheshvara, Rudra, Panchavaktra, Trinetra, Ishana, Mrityunjaya, Bhutanatha, Sarveshvara, Sharva, Shankara and Chandrashekhara. The Kavach invokes Shiva's protection over the entire body—from the head, forehead and eyes to the throat, heart, navel, back, arms, hands and feet. It then expands this protective contemplation beyond the body into all directions and circumstances: East • Southeast • South • Southwest • West • Northwest • North • Northeast • Above • Below • Water • Land • Sky • Sleep • Wakefulness The closing prayer beautifully asks Pinaki — Shiva, the Bearer of the Pinaka bow — to lovingly protect His devotee as Bhaktavatsala, the Lord who cherishes His devotees. Traditionally, Shiva Kavach recitation is approached as a practice of divine remembrance, courage, surrender and spiritual protection. The Brahmanda Vijaya Shiva Kavacham is especially powerful in imagery because the devotee mentally surrounds the entire body and every direction with different forms and names of Mahadev. 🙏 Ideal for morning prayer, Shiva Kavach recitation, Monday Shiva Puja, Pradosh, Mahashivratri, Shravan/Sawan worship, meditation, travel prayer, before sleep, or whenever one wishes to cultivate fearlessness through remembrance of Lord Shiva. 🔱 ॐ नमः शिवाय 🔱 हर हर महादेव 🔱 जय मृत्युंजय महादेव 🌺 Complete English Translation Note: The verses contain bija syllables such as Hrīm, Shrīm, Klīm, Hūm and Aim.
