Do your knees feel stiff when you first stand up after sitting? In this physiotherapist-led video, I’ll show you 5 simple movements you can do while you’re still sitting to get your knees and legs moving before you stand up and take those first few steps.
Knee stiffness after sitting can happen for different reasons and doesn’t automatically mean you have knee arthritis. These gentle movements are designed to help you get moving and feel more confident when transitioning from sitting to standing and walking.
In this video we’ll work through simple movements for your ankles, knees, hips and leg muscles, then stand up together and see how those first few steps feel.
