Correction: I noticed after finishing and uploading the video that I made a mistake. I wrote “bread dumplings,” but I meant steamed dumplings. Sorry for the mistake! Oops! 😄 Ingredients 1000 g beef 1–2 onions 7 carrots 4 parsnips ½ small celeriac 5 cloves garlic 300 ml dry red wine 300 ml beef stock 2 tbsp oil 1 cube of butter 2 bay leaves Thyme Rosemary Lovage Meat seasoning Salt Black pepper Crushed caraway seeds Instructions Cut the beef into large cubes and place it in a bowl. Drizzle with about two tablespoons of oil, season with salt and black pepper, and add the meat seasoning. Mix everything well. Peel the carrots, parsnips, and celeriac and cut them into cubes. Place the vegetables in a roasting dish or an oven-safe pot. Add the seasoned beef and mix everything together. Peel and slice one onion and add it to the meat and vegetables. Add the chopped garlic, bay leaves, thyme, rosemary, and lovage. You can also use any other herbs you have on hand. Pour in the stock, followed by the dry red wine. Finally, add a cube of butter. Cover the dish with a lid and place it in a preheated oven at 160°C (320°F) for 1 hour. After one hour, remove the dish from the oven and give everything a good stir. Cover it again with the lid and return it to the oven. Continue baking at 180°C (350°F) for another 1½ hours, until the beef is beautifully tender and the sauce is rich and flavorful. Serve with mashed potatoes or dumplings.
