Join me and my daughter Haylin for an overnight backcountry camping and fly fishing trip to Lower Barnaby Lake and the stunning Southfork Lakes in Castle Wildland Provincial Park, Southern Alberta! While Haylin relaxes by the water with her book, I target the elusive alpine golden trout using my TFO NXT 5wt 9ft fly rod and TFO NXT LA 1 reel. I “match the hatch” with a #18 Matt's Midge before sinking down into heavy nymphs (#16 Hare’s Ear, Red Snow Cone, LSD Chironomid, and Pheasant Tail).
Watch as we tackle the steep mountain trails, set up camp under the peaks, and enjoy an unforgettable weekend in the Canadian wilderness.
