A 4K walk behind Nagoya Station, Japan, to Koya Bridge — a yellow steel truss bridge over the railway tracks. The walk starts on a sunny Wednesday evening, follows the tracks past busy railroad crossings and Komeno Station, watches the sunset from the bridge, and returns to Nagoya Station after dark.
Filmed October 14, 2026
This time, you walk with Shin, who has lived in Nagoya for almost 40 years. There is no spoken narration — Shin speaks to you through short English captions on screen.
The walk begins below Nagoya Station's towers, cuts through the station, and comes out on the west side. From a footbridge, you can watch the Shinkansen pass overhead. Then the route follows the tracks through quiet neighborhoods, past railroad crossings where trains come one after another, and right beside Komeno Station on the Kintetsu Line.
Koya Bridge was imported from the United States by the Kyoto Railway in 1899 and moved here in 1930 to cross the tracks. It is said to be Japan's longest surviving 19th-century truss bridge. Locals call it the "Kamaboko Overpass" because of its rounded shape. From the bridge, you can see Kintetsu, the JR Kansai Line, the Aonami Line, and a rail yard below, with Nagoya Station's towers behind. At the end of the bridge, Shin stops to watch the sun go down.
After dark, the walk returns through quiet back streets to Nagoya Station, passing displays for Aichi-Nagoya 2026, a crowded crossing, and one more trip through the station. It ends with the towers lit up at night.
No spoken narration.
