I Took the Wrong Trail and Found an Incredible Hidden View

I had wanted to visit Gesäuse National Park for a long time, and finally I had the chance to go there. I started the hike from a parking area at the bottom of the mountain. After an easy first section, I reached a place with crystal-clear water. It was a great spot to cool down and take a short break. After a while, I noticed that there were no trail signs around me. Luckily, after a short search, I found the right path again. The next part of the hike was a bit more difficult, mainly because of the strong sun. There were not many places to find shade along the rocky trail. Fortunately, I found a large rock where I could rest for a while and regain some energy. Then I continued my hike. After another climb, I reached a small mountain hut and a few minutes later I arrived at Haindlkarhütte, which was my original destination. The hut also serves as a restaurant where hikers can relax and enjoy food and drinks. However, I decided to continue towards the summit and only walked past the hut because it was quite busy. Later, I came to a junction where the trail split into two paths. I asked other hikers which way to go, and they told me that both trails led to the same place. So I chose the higher path. What I did not know was that I had probably taken a wrong turn and left the official trail. In the end, I did not mind because I discovered an unexpected place with amazing views that was definitely worth seeing. From there, I walked down a steep gravel slope and got back onto the correct trail. The summit was now very close. After reaching it, I descended on the other side of the mountain using cables and chains. This section was beautiful, but also quite tiring. About two hours later, I reached the start of the trail on the other side of the mountain and followed a forest path back to the parking area where I had started. Overall, this was a moderately difficult and technical hike with amazing mountain views. It took me a little over 5 hours to complete.
