| Kolhapur Gokul Election

The election for the chairmanship of Kolhapur's Gokul Dudh Sangh has escalated into a legal battle. After the election officer postponed Thursday's meeting due to a lack of quorum—caused by the absence of 12 Mahayuti directors—the Congress-led panel independently declared Shashikant Patil-Chuyekar as the chairman based on their majority of 13 directors. Seeking legal validation, the Samvichari Aghadi filed a petition in the Kolhapur Circuit Bench, demanding that this unanimous selection be declared valid and that the administrator board's tenure should not be extended. The court has now directed the 12 absent Mahayuti directors and the state government to be made parties to the case and present their side.
