One of My Favorite Palettes Lately | Textured Bloom Swipe

Textured bloom swipes are one of my favorite fluid art techniques, and I absolutely loved the colors and movement in this piece, so I wanted to share the full process with y’all. This piece was created on a 10x10 gallery deep canvas, and it will be going into a show in October! I actually created two textured bloom swipes during this painting session. The lighting on the footage from the second piece wasn’t great, so I decided not to use it for a full video, but I’ll show you both finished pieces at the end. One of my favorite parts of this piece is the beautiful color created where TLP Lily Pad combined with Naples Yellow Deep. My ratio can range anywhere from approximately 1:1 to 4:1 Australian Floetrol to paint depending on the paint I’m using and the effect I’m looking for. ⸻ 🧪 Pouring Medium Used For the colors in this piece, I used: Sherwin-Williams Infinity Base C Semi-Gloss Varathane Triple Thick Water-Based Gloss Polyurethane Approximately 2:1 Paint and pouring-medium ratios may need to be adjusted depending on the brand, pigment, and consistency of the paint. ⸻ 🌿 About Sweetgrass Art Studio I discovered fluid art during one of the most difficult seasons of my life.
