There is a particular kind of hurry that begins before we even get out of bed. Overnight emails, unfinished work, family needs, news alerts, and tomorrow's worries can quickly decide the direction of our thoughts. None of these responsibilities are necessarily wrong, but when every morning begins by reacting to demands, we can lose the opportunity to choose what deserves our attention first. Through this Christian morning prayer, we ask God to help us establish a quieter, more intentional beginning.
