If you woke up already dreading something you have to face today, this morning prayer is for the fear that begins long before the difficult moment actually arrives. Whether you are preparing for an uncomfortable conversation, an important appointment, or a situation you wish you could avoid, bring that apprehension before God before you step into the day. Sometimes the hardest part of a difficult day begins hours before anything happens. We rehearse conversations, imagine painful outcomes, and picture ourselves struggling through moments that have not yet arrived. By the time we leave home, fear has already consumed much of the strength and attention we hoped to bring into the situation. In this Christian morning prayer for courage and strength, we ask God to walk beside us through whatever lies ahead.
