Explore a gentle breathwork practice connected with the element of air and awareness of the mind. Breathe slowly, notice where your attention goes and allow yourself to experience the breath without needing to change what arises. In this practice, you are invited to breathe in through an open mouth before closing the mouth and allowing the exhale to flow through the nose. The breath is kept slow and gentle as you begin to find your own natural rhythm. Because this may be a less familiar breathing pattern, the practice invites you to notice how much focus and concentration it requires. As you continue, attention turns towards the mind. Does focusing on the breath allow everything else to quieten down, or does your mind become sharper and more active? There is no particular experience you need to create. Instead, the invitation is simply to become aware of what is happening, including moments when you may naturally slip back into a more familiar way of breathing. The practice then returns to the natural rhythm of the breath, followed by silence and a few minutes of quiet reflection accompanied by birdsong. Notice what has changed, what has remained the same, and how your mind feels after breathing with the element of air. If this practice supported you, return to it whenever you would like a gentle space to breathe, notice and reflect.
