Learning Spanish in Ecuador: how hard is it really, and do you need it to live here? We sit down with Adriana Alarcón, a bilingual Spanish teacher from Loja who has taught foreigners in Vilcabamba and around the world for over 13 years, to talk about the realities of learning Spanish as expats. Where do you fall on the moving-to-Ecuador language-learning scale? Most people land somewhere between "I already speak a perfectly good language, why bother?" and "Of course I'll learn Spanish.
