An episode may end, but the shame and guilt can linger. You might replay things you said, regret decisions you made, or struggle to forgive yourself—even years later. In this episode of The Bipolar Perspective, Mark shares a personal perspective on those feelings, taking responsibility without tearing yourself apart, and finding room for self-compassion as you move forward. We also talk about why Mark’s avatar sometimes smiles during difficult conversations, and how smiling through uncomfortable feelings connects with my own experience. You can acknowledge what happened, work to repair what you can, and still treat yourself with kindness. Your hardest moments don’t have to define your whole story. If you feel comfortable sharing, what has helped you cope with shame or guilt after an episode? Please respect each other’s experiences in the comments. Subscribe to @Thebipolarperspective for more honest conversations about living with bipolar disorder. This episode shares personal experience and general information, not individual medical advice. #BipolarDisorder #BipolarPerspective #MentalHealth #SelfCompassion #BipolarRecovery
