Learn how to make delicious Potato Meat Fatayer at home! These soft and tender stuffed flatbreads are made with potato dough and filled with seasoned ground beef and melted cheese. They are easy to make in a pan and perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a delicious snack. 🥔 Soft Potato Dough 🥩 Seasoned Ground Beef Filling 🧀 Melted Cheese 🍳 Pan-Cooked — No Oven Needed! Ingredients For the Dough: 300 g cooked and mashed potatoes 300 g bread flour or all-purpose flour 3 g instant yeast 5 g sugar 6 g salt 30 g olive oil 10 g chopped cilantro or parsley 2 g paprika 3–4 tbsp milk, if needed For the Filling: 100 g ground beef 1 onion, finely chopped 1 tsp paprika 1 tsp black pepper 1 tsp salt 1 tbsp tomato paste Pizza cheese, as needed Instructions: 1. Cook the potatoes, peel them, and mash or grate 300 g. Let them cool slightly and release excess steam. 2. Add the olive oil, instant yeast, sugar, salt, paprika, and chopped herbs. Mix well. 3. Add the flour and knead for about 4–5 minutes until you have a soft and smooth dough. 4. If the dough feels dry, gradually add the milk. Do not add all the milk at once. 5. Cover the dough and let it rest for about 60 minutes. 6. Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Sauté the chopped onion and ground beef, then add tomato paste, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Cook until completely done. 7. Let the meat filling cool completely and make sure it has no excess liquid. 8. Divide the dough into equal portions. Roll each piece out. If sticky, lightly dust with flour. 9. Add some meat filling and pizza cheese to the center. Bring the edges together and seal well. 10. Turn it over and gently flatten it. Dust with a little flour while shaping if needed. 11. Heat a pan and lightly grease it. Cook the fatayer over medium heat for about 3–4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through. 12. If desired, brush the hot fatayer with a little melted butter before serving. Tips: Add milk gradually because the amount depends on the moisture of the potatoes. Make sure the filling is completely cool and not watery before stuffing the dough.
