Train consists: Calgary Transit Siemens SD160NG Series 8 set. This crossing is located on the Calgary Transit CTrain Blue Line. Bell sequence: Bells ring through whole activation. Horn setting: Quiet zone. Signal on the far left: A Safetran base, a Siemens gate mechanism with Alstom-Aurora LED gate lights, 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24" lights with Dialight Low Wattage LEDs and a high tone Invensys Rail electronic bell. Signal on the near left: A Safetran base, a Siemens gate mechanism with Alstom-Aurora LED gate lights, 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24" lights with Dialight Low Wattage LEDs and a high tone Invensys Rail electronic bell. Median signal: A Safetran base, a Siemens gate mechanism with Alstom-Aurora LED gate lights and 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24" lights with Dialight Low Wattage LEDs. To finish off that afternoon of January 13th, 2025, where I was filming various railroad crossings along the West leg of the CTrain Blue Line, I came over to this crossing that I had yet to film. It of course didn’t take me long at all to wait for the crossing to activate, as it soon did for this inbound Blue Line train with a 3-car Siemens SD160NG Series 8 consist. This crossing is a pretty decent one. The signals were installed in 2012 when the Blue Line West LRT was constructed. While other crossings along this section have WCH E-Bells and 8” Safetran LEDs plus Harmon Fading LEDs, this crossing has the typical Invensys Rail/Siemens default equipment with Dialight Low Wattage LEDs and high tone Invensys Rail/Siemens E-Bells. The only change these signals received since installation was the replacement of the original Invensys Rail S60 gate mechanisms with Siemens S40s. Please comment, like and subscribe!
