Water is the lifeblood of Al-Makha’s farming community but managing it requires more than just rainfall—it requires infrastructure that is resistant to climate change.
Witness in this video the transformation of the landscape through @UNDP's Food Security Response and Resilience Project (FSRRP).
By constructing sedimentation barriers to restore the wadi water level, installing control gates for water management, and rehabilitating vital irrigation canals, we are helping farmers reclaim their land and secure their harvests. From hard work to the vibrant onion harvest, this intervention demonstrates the impact of investing in climate-smart agricultural infrastructure.
This vital intervention is made possible through @WorldBankGroup funding and support and in close collaboration with our national implementing partner, @PWPYEMEN. Together, we are strengthening Yemeni communities to face environmental challenges and build a more food-secure future.
