52-Year-Old Has No Clue Police Already Know About the Plot to Kill His Roommate

At 52 years old, Abraham Shears sat down with detectives investigating the murder of his former roommate, John Clinedinst. What begins as a long police interview gradually turns toward an alleged murder-for-hire plot carried out on the victim’s own doorstep. Clinedinst, a Columbus City Schools bus driver, was ambushed as he left his Prairie Township home for work in September 2019. Investigators alleged that Tarayle Glick used a flashlight to blind him while Donte Slash attacked him. According to the charging affidavit, Shears had offered the two men money and travel to California in exchange for killing Clinedinst. This police interrogation follows the detectives as they test Shears’s timeline, relationships, and explanations against what investigators had already learned about the planning behind the attack. Watch closely as the questions become more specific and the purpose of the interview comes into focus. Shears was charged with conspiracy to commit murder. This video does not treat an accusation as a conviction and does not claim that he confessed during the interview.
